Maloney swimmer picks up scholarship at the University of Indianapolis where he’ll study General Engineering. Sea Hawks SC swimmer Aqeel Joseph is headed to t...he university of his dreams where he hopes to take his swimming to another level. The 18-year old Holy Cross College graduate will leave T&T later this month as he embarks on this new journey. Joseph, who swims the 50 freestyle, backstroke, butterfly 100 freestyle, backstroke, butterfly 200 freestyle, butterfly (at times) & Individual Medley, described how long and monotonous the process was. The process going about it was an extremely long one where as I had sent my sights at different schools and I had to keep into contact with them via email. Around last year I made up my mind that the University of Indianapolis was the right college for me both academically and athletically wise since they were on a rapid incline in search of being the best division 2 swimming wise Joseph told T&T Sport Diary. The University of Indianapolis was my DREAM COLLEGE! Joseph, whose ultimate goal is to compete and represent T&T at the Olympic Games, last year qualified for the Youth Olympics in the 50m freestyle but was unable to travel to the competition for undisclosed reasons.
