We’re pleased to be launching a festive offer which provides great value for customers using our swimming pools and sports centres regularly across December and... January. From tomorrow (Friday) you can purchase an individual gym and swim pass which will last for two months from date of purchase for just 48.75, whilst an individual gym or swim only pass will be available for just 39.30. The value of these packages would normally be 65 or 52.40 respectively, and though sports facilities will be closed for 12 days over the festive period, this still represents great value for money. Even better prices are available for over-60s, young people or those on low incomes. Household passes are also discounted. The existing monthly passes will still be available if you wish to continue using this option. This offer will be available to purchase until Wednesday, December 23. Swimming Lesson change of time email We have had a lot of queries regarding the change of time for swimming lesson email which was sent out. The email should have said that the change of time is from January 2021. We apologise for the confusion caused.

8-11 year old fun sessions We have made it through our 1st school term back and now it's the holidays - well done everyone!!! We re-open on Monday, our sessions are very popular so far which is fantastic thank you all for your support. ... Tuesday the 13th is now open to book online and the shallow tanks and lanes are already booking up fast. Monday the 12th booked up fast but we still have availability in our deep end tanks, this is a brilliant opportunity to take up to 5 family members for a swim and get 4 lanes width of the deepend all to yourself to practice those swimming skills again

We have been watching our bookings and listening to feedback and already we have made a slight change to the 19th Oct and 21st Oct. We are cancelling the 8-11 year old session on the above dates due to poor booking numbers in week 1. We have done this before booking goes live for the sessions so if you have booked into the 8-11yr old session next week it is still going ahead. We have replaced it with a 12-16 year old lane swim instead. (Must be able to swim with lane discipline and be above level 5 competency) great for club or ex club swimmers.

Wow what a day, it was so nice seeing swimmers back in the pool. Thank you to everyone who visited today for supporting us and being so kind A couple of reminders for the pool: please make sure you are booking the correct tank, we may not be able to adapt all the time, for deep end tanks children must be able to swim confidently unaided, if they can’t then you need to book a shallow tank. ... please wear face coverings all the way to poolside. we are only using our carpark door not the top one so please park in the car park and come up the stairs. The top door is disabled access only. All in all it was a great day. This video shows you that we have adapted our facility to be Covid safe as per government guidelines, our staff team will also be on site to assist our customers as they enter the pool. We cannot wait to see our customers back and in the water from tomorrow.

We again have watched, listened and learned and we have made some changes to our family sessions for Tuesday 20th onwards. There will now be: One tank for adults and under 6's (max 3 per tank) Two tanks for small families (max 3 per tank) ... One tank for large families (max 5 per tank) One tank in the deep-end (max 4 per tank and must be able to swim) We hope this suits our customers better, but we do welcome any further feedback.

Some explanations on how these sessions will work: ... Adult lane swim this session will be double width lanes meaning we have 1 slow, 1 medium and 1 fast lane. A maximum of 6 swimmers will be allowed to book into each lane. We ask swimmers to keep social distance whilst swimming by keeping good lane etiquette. We also ask all swimmers enter and exit in the shallow end of the pool. When you book watch out for which lane you are booking. Family tank sessions there will be 1 shallow tank for a parent bringing 2 children who are under 6 years old, this is due to the pricing being right for children under 6 getting free swimming. There will be 2 further tanks in the shallow end for a family of up to 5 people. There will be one tank in the deep end for a family of up to 5 where all children must be over 8 and have passed their competency swimmer test. When you book watch out for which tank you are booking. Age 8-11-year-old fun session this session is an open swim for children aged 8-11 years old. Sessions are limited to 18 participants. As children in this age bracket are not required to socially distance. No adults will be allowed entry into the building during this session. We are also excited to be welcoming Westhill District ASC back for some of their squads to train in their home pool again. We'll be closing most of our facilities including sports and leisure venues and libraries across Aberdeenshire from 2pm on Christmas Eve, reopening on January 5.... The exceptions are Macduff Marine Aquarium and the area's two all-weather ski centres - Alford Ski Centre and Huntly Nordic and Outdoor Centre - which will continue to operate between Christmas and Hogmanay with reduced opening hours. Interim Head of Service for Live Life Aberdeenshire, Avril Nicol, said: "This represents a longer period of closure than in previous years, for a number of reasons. "Traditionally the Christmas period is one of our quietest and the well-publicised difficult budget position Aberdeenshire Council finds itself in means it is not economical to open in most cases. "Many of our team members were also redeployed into important but difficult frontline work while our facilities were closed during lockdown and this period of closure will make sure they get an appropriate chance to rest and recover." Those libraries which were due to offer click and collect and home delivery, or other services, on the afternoon of December 24 will now make these available earlier in the day.
