Following a confirmed case of Covid-19 at Gateshead Leisure Centre the facility is closed from Monday 21st September for a period of 24 hours to undergo a deep clean. Members are encouraged to book at any other Go Gateshead facilities during this time. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.

In light of Gateshead Council's ongoing response to the coronavirus pandemic, all GO Gateshead leisure centres will remain closed. We are pleased to announce the reopening of the gym at Gateshead International Stadium from next Monday 7 December. Councillor Angela Douglas, Cabinet Member for Culture, Sport and Leisure: The Leader of the Council, Cllr Gannon, and I recognise the difficulty of balancing the competing demands of our COVID-19 response and reopening our leisure centres. However, it is important we provide opportunities that help maintain the broader health and wellbeing of our residents; th...at’s why we’ve worked to get some services back for the people of Gateshead, and I’m delighted that we are able to reopen some facilities. In response to the recently announced national lockdown to help protect the NHS and save lives as part of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, all GO Gateshead leisure centres will close from 10pm tonight, Wednesday 4 November.
