When it's too cold for outdoor lessons, check out Aquaventure for year-long swim lesson options!
Thanks everyone for a great summer of lessons! Unfortunately, it has become too cold to continue outdoor lessons. However, the swim season is never over! Did you know that many swimmers continue lessons and practices throughout the rest of the year? This is a great way to make strides and get ahead of your swim needs for next summer! If you are interested in starting or continuing swim lessons, I will be moving indoors at Aquaventure in Winterville, NC. Please note that I am... not the owner of Aquaventure, and all lessons conducted there will be subject to their facility swim lesson rates as well as pool hours and lane availability. You can schedule a lesson with me two ways: 1) Message me personally 2) Fill out a private swim lesson form and request me as the instructor (this can be done online or at the front desk at Aquaventure)
Finally had the first swim lesson of the season today! It feels good to be back in the water doing what I love. I will be in Greenville, NC for the next month. Starting July 6th I will begin taking lessons in Birmingham, AL (pending my ability to find a pool that will let me teach!) If you have your own pool, know a friend who does, or if you have a neighborhood pool willing to work with me, please let me know! People need to learn to swim, even during these crazy times! Stay safe out there everyone!
Today we worked on breastroke! The pullout and breakout strokes are beginning to come together, and Rob is excited to show off his skills! He also would like you to subscribe to his YouTube channel, he's a real jokester!
The key to a strong freestyle is the kick. In this video, Mo tells us that the key to a strong kick is using your whole leg, hip to toe. He also adds that you want small but fast kicks. Great job Mo!
It is with great sadness that I must announce Swim Lessons with Sara-Morgan will be moving to Birmingham, Alabama in the coming months. I thought I would be able to tell everyone in person but this virus has made that impossible, and has also made my move date a mystery! I will be making sure everyone is set up with another instructor before I leave. If you have any questions please contact me by phone/text. I hope to return to Greenville within the year, but right now nothing is certain! I hope I get to see you all again before I leave, but if not: stay safe, stay well, and just keep swimming!
Proof that hard work pays off! Great job Rob!
Hello friends! Swim lessons are still in full swing in the outdoor pools! I will continue lessons outside until the weather says it's too cold to do so. Once that happens, I will move to conducting lessons out of Aquaventure, where I work. Please note that we will be subject to lane availability and Aquaventure pricing at that time! Please let me know if you have any questions!
Happy belated birthday to this goofy kiddo! Fun fact: Rob was born the day before Thanksgiving!
It may be getting colder, but that doesn't mean swim lessons have to stop! It is important to work on your swim skills year-round so you are prepared once pool season comes around. Contact me for more information about out-of-season swim lessons!
I love it when things finally click! Campbell has been working on synchronizing her arms and legs for butterfly all summer! The key to a good butterfly stroke is all about timing, form, and proper breathing. Great job Campbell!
When learning how to do a flipturn, it is important to begin by practicing your skills away from the wall. Here, Haya demonstrates this by swimming a few strokes and then completing a flipturn in open water. As she explains in the video, the key to a good flipturn is no breath before the flip, and make it a quick turn. We will use this exercise to help transition her to wall flipturns soon!
Gia put in a lot of hard work today so I thought she deserved a little bit of fun at the end! I give this jump a 10/10
