What are the health benefits of swimming? Swimming is one of the most popular recreational activities. As well as being fun, swimming is a great way to stay healthy, keep fit and make friends. Swimming is also a health activity that you can continue for a lifetime. It is a low-impact activity so is a great activity for people of all ages. It also has mental health benefits as it makes people feel good. Swimming is a great workout for the whole body because you need to move... it against the resistance of the water. This makes it a good all-round activity because it takes some of the impact stress off your body but keeps your heart rate up. Swimming builds muscle strength, endurance and cardiovascular fitness. It can help people to maintain a healthy weight and keep a healthy heart and lungs. #Swimming

What do swimming lessons involve? Learning to swim can be a little scary at first. That’s why Swimtime only employ dedicated and caring professional swimming teachers. They make learning to swim less daunting for even the most nervous swimmers. Getting comfortable in the water is the first step. Young swimmers and their parents can rest assured that our impeccable safety measures minimise any risk so swimmers can let go of their fear. An early technique that we teach is flo...ating. We encourage swimmers to hold onto the side of the pool and let their legs float behind them to get used to the sensation of swimming while still having an anchor point. We use a similar approach to encourage swimmers to practice kicking their legs. Treading water helps swimmers to keep their head up and practice balance by ‘sculling’ the water. When it comes to swim strokes, crawls are a great first swimming stroke for beginners as they propel the body quickly. Before we know it, most swimmers have built up their confidence and are ready to try some more advanced strokes. Lessons will continue until the end of Wednesday 4th November. All lessons suspended from Thursday 5th November. Our dedicated COVID page will be updated throughout this period: https://hubs.la/H0z2X4R0 Dear Customer,... Along with the rest of the country, we learned of the 2nd National Lockdown when the Prime Minster spoke just before 7pm on Saturday 31st October. We can only imagine how disappointed you will all be to learn that for 4 weeks from Thursday 5th November, swimming lessons are unable to take place. Over the coming days we will work as quickly as we can to prepare our operations for this. We will: 1. Suspend all Monthly Payments during this period 2. Apply credits for lessons that do not take place 3. Review our timetables to see if we can include additional lesson in the near future Over the next few days please be patient with us as it will not be possible to be as responsive as we usually are. Our network of small, family run swim schools will work as quickly as they can to put the necessary arrangements in place. Thank you for your understanding, we are devastated to close our doors once again but we will return as soon as it is safe to do so. Team Swimtime
