When you enter the water, something, like a metamorphosis happens. To be immersed in water is beyond wonderful, and provides some with relaxation, a reset and calm, others with a boost, surge of energy and zing. ... The cold heightens our response and the day is forgotten as we work through the rituals which mean we survive the experience. Mat on the floor, clothes laid in order, flask, cake, and all the layers you can find. Whatever your reasons please be prepared for your swims. There is lots of advice and guidance available.
