With the upcoming storm(s), this is the ideal time to go over how to drain your pool if needed during the next week. Most will have an overflow grate in the pool that is located at the middle of the tile somewhere around the inside of the pool, this should be able to handle any rain along with your deck drains. But just in case, see the photo ... With your main pump running, turn that faucet and water will come out of there, rather than going through your filter to be cleaned and back into the pool. Simply attach a garden hose to this, run it to a nearby drain or away from the pool area, and turn it on with the main filter pump running. Your all set and draining the excess rain water Set your alarm! Otherwise you may forget to turn it off and end up draining too much water out If you have a DE or Sand filter, please reach out to me and I’ll pm you directly how to drain.
