Did you know? The most dangerous place for children ages 1-4 is a pool. Most drownings in this age group happen in backyard pools. ... What are you doing to protect your kids this summer? Are you: Getting them skilled to be able to survive if they were ever to fall into the water without anyone around? Putting pool fences around your pools? Putting high up locks and alarms on all windows and doors (including dog doors) leading to the water? Staying within arm’s reach of non swimmers at all times? Using Water Watchers to make sure kids are being watched in and around the water at all times? Getting your kids out of flotation devices in the pool so they can learn what their own bodies can and can’t do in the water, rather than getting a false sense that they can swim when they really can’t from them? Learning CPR, so you are ready to help anyone that may have an accident? These are the things that will keep your children safer around the water and will help you have a safer and fun summer. It is March 24th, 2021!! That means we are exactly 2 months away from getting in the water!!! Every season I try to get at the very least - 2 kids who cannot afford lessons sponsored. This year I would love to do more, but we currently have 2 spots we would love to fill with families who want lessons but either have multiple children, or they simply can not afford it. ... As you know, this sponsorship goes into the Caleb Halford fund. All donations given in his name go towards lessons for children and families who can not afford it. Caleb Halford drowned in an aquatic accident weeks before his 3rd birthday, and through his legacy we want to provide children with lessons each year .
