Confidence is key! We work hard for 10 minutes/day, 5 days a week, 6 weeks and your child will have the skills to fall in the water and rollback and float.

How are ISR lessons different than traditional lessons? ISR is the product of over 50+ years of ongoing research. Rather than blow bubbles and sing songs, our primary focus is to make sure each student can SURVIVE in the water and be an aquatic problem solver. We give them real life situations, like using their skills in full clothing, to make sure they are prepared for a real life drowning scenario. Our goal is to always do what is safest for each child and what is best for their survival.

Watch this clip to learn about Mila and her families experience with ISR. 70% of children were not expected to be in or around the pool, yet they were found in the water.

The dangers of flotations devices: These devices subconsciously train your children to be in an upright, vertical position in the water. It trains them to swim with their head out of the water and their legs kicking below. It creates a muscle memory to have this posture in the water. Young children believe this is how they swim, they do not have the cognitive abilities to recognize that without this device, they would not be able to swim in this position. Without the device, the position they revert to is known as the drowning position Enroll in ISR lessons today before summer to give your child the skills they need to be safe in the water

Refresher lessons are suggested every six months. As children grow, their skills will need to be adjusted to their new height and weight. Refreshers are highly recommended to refine their skills as they’ve most likely hit developmental milestones since the last time they’ve seen us.

What does an ISR session look like? Consistency is key when attaining skills. Attendance is important for your child to attain these skills.

What is ISR? Infant Swimming Resource’s Self-Rescue survival swimming program is a 4-6 week course, scheduled 5 days per week, Monday through Friday, for 10 minutes each day. With a focus on safe, customized, one-on-one lessons by certified Instructors, ISR’s survival swimming lessons emphasize health, ongoing program evaluations and parent education to deliver the most effective and safest results in the industry. Children may begin lessons at 6 months of age until 6 years o...f age. Lessons for a 6-12 month old focus on teaching the child to roll onto their back to float, rest and breathe, and to be able to maintain this life-saving position until help arrives. Lessons for children 1-6 years old focus on teaching the swim-float-swim survival sequence. Children learn to swim with their head down; roll onto their back to float, rest, and breathe; and roll back over to resume swimming until they reach the side of the pool, where they can either crawl out or until they can be rescued. Once the children are fully skilled they will practice ISR’s survival techniques fully clothed during lessons. It is recommended that children complete refresher lessons to help their in-water skill level grow with their physical development. See more
