British Swim School’s partnership with Hope Floats Foundation helps us spread the message that ALL children deserve to have the swim skills and water safety education they need to save their own lives. The Hope Floats Foundation is a non-profit founded in 2016 committed to spreading water safety awareness and education to children who otherwise would not have access to swim instruction. Hope Floats partners with individuals, businesses, and high-quality swim schools to raise ...money to go toward swim lesson scholarships and tuition assistance for families in need. According to the World Health Organization, lower income status is associated with a higher risk of drowning due to lack of swim instruction and water safety resources. Because drowning is 100% preventable, Hope Floats sees this statistic and wants to offer every child the opportunity to become educated on water safety and risk prevention. Visit HopeFloats.foundation to learn how you can take action and support its mission. British Swim School recently established partnership with the United States Swim School Association, a non-profit founded in 1988 that allows swim education businesses and industry experts to provide learning opportunities and raise awareness of drowning prevention and importance of swim lessons. Even with almost 40 years of learn-to-swim industry experience, we recognize that collaboration with other swim schools and industry members makes us a stronger organization, especia...lly during the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic. Children aren’t able to receive the feedback necessary to ensure water safety and skill progression through online learning resources. This feedback is critical in ensuring the proper skills are being taught and retained. Should all other safety precautions fail, water safety and survival skills can save a child’s life if they ever find themselves in the water unexpectedly!

You may be thinking, I can learn swim techniques online and teach my child to swim without formal lessons. Think again! With a skill as important as swimming, it’s critical that children learn from instructors who receive formal, ongoing training through reputable organizations. This training could mean the difference between knowing what to do and what not to do during an emergency!
