Hard water leads to calcium build up on the tile, staining can occur, chemicals can't react as they are designed to. Plus you tend to use more chemicals than you should. Getting ready to light up the sky at Central Christian Church July 4th celebration.

We've been getting numerous calls from people who say that their pool has gone from crystal clear to green pretty much over night. They have been adding shock like crazy with no results. Part of the problem are three chemical readings that most home owners over look. PH, Total Alkalinity and Phosphates. PH 7.4-7.8, Total Alkalinity 80-120, and Phosphates near zero. There is a separate test for testing for Phosphates. There maybe other issues also (equipment, old water, e...tc.) but unless these readings are within the acceptable range, your wasting time and money trying to clear up your pool. Tip: Make sure you are emptying your skimmer and pump baskets more often during monsoon season. Clogged baskets reduce the turn over rate to properly filter your pool water and also makes your pool pump work harder. This can save you money from replacing blown out baskets. Please Like & Share

Tip: Clean and clear pool water starts with proper filtration. Sand filters are relatively an inexpensive way to keep your pool water clear. The problem comes when they are not maintained properly. When a sand filter gets clogged, the pool water can become cloudy, debris can pass back through, and the sand can start to channel. Channeling is a chemical process which the sand molecules become coated with contaminants that adhere together. These contaminants can include parasi...tes, biofilm (a separate subject of its own), oils, and other potentially toxic materials. This means only a portion of the filter is working. Regular backwashing and a filter cleaning aid will prolong the life of the sand. If a filter aid is not effective and your still having problems it maybe time to change the sand.
