IT's fINaLLy HeEEEeeeERe!!!! Our favorite swim top/sports bra of all time.....fresh off the needle in 3 separate colorways and ready to go! The Kim top incorpoates ruching at the bust that will contract or expand to fit a wide variety of cup sizes (B-DD) and a flattering cut-out at center front to accentuate your natural shape. Ultra-supportive power mesh is built into underbust band, eliminating the need for metal or plastic fasteners that will chafe the skin, or degrade ...and break down over time. Further support is enhanced by the double back panels that distribute bust weight evenly across the shoulders from the halter top design, eliminating stress at the neck. ARTbutt Swim is made to be moved in, and we believe all good play involves feeling confident about yourself, being active, and having fun. The women’s swim has been tirelessly tested both in and out of the water to ensure a no-slip fit for women who move, incorporating classic yet eye-catching unique styles that were built to flatter the female form. Works great as a sports bra too! Click link in bio to purchase directly from our website. If you have any questions about fit, care, or sizing, please reach out! I love talking about swimsuits **PLEASE NOTE** Check out the Unisex reversible water shorts for matching bottoms! @ Rockaway Beach

ARTbutt waves the sustainable flag, implementing zero waste principles as much as possible from the start into the design process. Wherever possible our mantra remains: SHORTEN SUPPLY CHAIN! REGIONALIZE SUPPLY CHAIN! SCALE IT DOWN! This past pandemic-y year has really highlighted how mighty the small local supply chain can be. I felt this right away when I was able to supply masks to customers within a day while the big box retailers had mask back orders out for months. But... it also applies to quality tooARTbutt’s small batch locally made items have a high quality bar and I am personally involved in every step of the supply chain, it doesn’t just stop once the design has been fit approved. From sourcing materials, to grading the pattern, to cutting fabric, and to final sewing, it’s all happening either under my eyes or hand, and that’s the way I like it! #supplychain #localsuppliers #shopsmall #handmade #independentdesigner #sustainableswim #sustainablefashion #upcycledclothing #makersgonnamake

I’ve been working on a big project for awhile, one that has been the original catalyst for the entire ARTbutt concept: utilizing fashion as an art object/canvas; collaborating with other visual artists; and translating one-of-a-kind art sculptures into functional, high-quality garments. Grateful to be sharing a little more of this process at the Byrdcliff open studios this weekend, where I’ve been a resident this summer. Also, stay tuned for more updates and final launch!

Wish you were here! ARTbutt co-conspirator Karen Ingram is postcard perfect in the Kim Top and Unisex Water shorts which also happen to feature the Urban Surf printwhich is her design!! The print is inspired by the natural wildlife and urban surroundings of Rockaway Beach, NY, and was featured in @therockawaywave newspaper last summer, below is an excerpt of her inspiration and process: ...Making this print was a fun process; we talked about the urban environment of the ...Rockaways as being a motif in the piece. Anya and I had pulled a bunch of images of birds, signage, construction sites, etc to create mood boards from, to inform the elements of the print. When she saw I had integrated traffic cones into the print, she laughed and said You went there! I also wanted to include some wildlife. Shortly before I began the print this spring, some friends from Brooklyn came to visit me to check out the migratory birds that were just arriving back to the Rockaways, including Oyster Catchers and Gannets. I was inspired by these birds and I decided to include them in the print. I loved the crazy beak shape and orange eyes of the Oyster Catchers. I was spellbound by the Gannetts, which have a six-foot wingspanthe largest of any bird in North America. If you have binoculars and look out to the ocean, you can see them pull those giant wings in like an arrow and plunge into the ocean for fish. So beautiful. There are a few other animals in the print: sharks, swans, and a cat. I drew most of the elements by hand initially, then I scanned them in and finished the print in Illustrator. It was fun integrating all of these seemingly disparate elements to create a picture of Rockaway. The limited edition Urban Surf Kim Top is made from sustainable, premium Italian spandex fabric that is pretty special as well: Thanks to its innovative construction, its twice as resistant to chlorine and suntan creams and oils than competitors’ fabrics. Made from recycled plastic, it is versatile, resistant, thin, stretchy, soft, and breathable; a unique blend of muscular compression and comfort. Cut and sewn in NYC with @ Rockaway Beach
