Another reminder for us all to stay vigilant in and around water. Unfortunately, Covid -19 has postponed much needed water safety instruction across America. Safety First Swim School hopes to be up and running again this June! We are still looking for host pools so please PM me if you would like more information. Stay tuned for upcoming information regarding swim lessons and our precautions against Covid-19... Don’t forget to share this video to friends and families with young children.

An important reminder of why Safety Swim lessons are so important for young children. The Miller family knows the pain of losing a child to drowning and now know the importance of aquatic safety instruction. https://www.today.com//bode-morgan-miller-s-7-month-old-tw

Hello All, I hope you are all staying safe and sane. With this hot weather I'm sure we are all hoping to get back into swimming soon! I am planning on offering lessons this year once some of the stay at home orders are lifted. I am anticipating starting early to mid June. If you would like to be a host pool, please PM me. Continue to be vigilant in supervising your children in and around the water. A good rule of thumb is to always be arms distance from your child near water. If your child is a less skilled swimmer or has not had refresher lessons yet, please be in the water with your child at all times. Safety First!

Some food for thought. Not many parents are aware of the potential dangers of wearing puddle jumpers. Read this moms reason why she advocates #saynotopuddlejumpers This is something that isn’t talked about enough and many parents don’t even realize the potential threat.

Not only can this 18 month old swim to the step by his 3rd lesson, I have also established a hand target. This little guy knows to look for an outstretched hand to swim to in order to get picked up (to get a breath and to safety). It is important for kids to know that they must engage (grab a hand) as opposed to an adult always picking up the child which results in learned helplessness. These lessons are designed to teach safety and independence in the water.

COVID-19 According to the CDC there is no evidence that the virus that causes COVID-19 can be spread to people through the water in pools, hot tubs, spas or water play areas. However, they do offer guidelines for precautions. Safety First Swim School is dedicated to offer the safest swim lessons possible. That is why we will be following CDC health and safety guidelines concerning pool and swim areas carefully. https://www.cdc.gov//communi/parks-rec/aquatic-venues.html
