Seeing it's our first morning back after seems like forever , I thought it was fitting to share our first Mermaid session at uksa . NEWS REGARDING MERMAIDING AT THE WATERSIDE Phase two starts today at the Waterside in line with health regulations and the pools rules here are a list of things that MUST be introduced for children to have lessons 1. Temperature checks will be taken at reception and if found to high you will be turned away... 2. Changing rooms will not be open 3. Turn up swim ready 4. Hand sanitise on entry 5. Parents to wait outside rather than watch from poolside 6. Parents to only come in if swimming with child 7. No lending of goggles 8. Any tails borrowed will be only used once and put in a tub for cleaning in milton 9. Make swimmers aware of one way systems 10. A constant 2m distance between swimmers 11. Max number of children per lesson will be six 12. Face shields and masks to be worn by instructors 13. Instructors to teach from poolside DUE TO EXTRA COST AND CLEANING INVOLVED IN KEEPING OUR TAILS COVID FREE ANYONE USING OUR EQUIPMENT WILL HAVE AN EXTRA FEE OF 3.95 PER SESSION, WE DO HAVE TAILS AVAILABLE TO BUY IF YOU WOULD PREFER TO HAVE YOUR OWN THIS IS TO KEEP EVERYONE AS SAFE AS POSSIBLE WE HOPE TO START ON THE 19th SEPTEMBER WE ARE JUST WAITING CONFORMATION FROM THE POOL IAN and GEMMA

For all Mermaids currently enrolled, we will email everyone their declaration form to fill in this evening to bring with the children tomorrow. If you don't have a printer we can bring along one. But we need to know as you will not be allowed to enter without it.

A statement from the Royal Life Saving Society UK We are extremely disappointed by the governments' decision not to open swimming pools from the 4th July. The s...ector has been working tirelessly and collectively to produce guidance that enables swimming pool operators, instructors, trainers and lifeguards to open and work safely. We know we can keep the public safe in an environment and sector that is already heavily safety process led. We already have more health and safety process delivery than most industries that are now able to open. Pool staff are conscientious in managing health and safety and there are over 60,000 lifeguards unable to work and are fearful of their futures. We also have thousands of active members who understand the health benefits, both physical and mental that being in a swimming pool can provide. We need urgent clarity from the government as to why they think we are not able to open and why they have not considered our extensive guidance.
