Happy New Year from ISR Beaumont. I am excited to have everyone back poolside and grow ISR Beaumont in 2021. 2020 was....different, but overall I was blessed with my second son, a healthy pregnancy, some travel before the lockdown, a wonderful family and support system from my spouse and a thriving business so it wasn’t all bad for us. ... May you continue to search for your 2020 blessings while heading into 2021. See you all soon!

Is your little one being taught to blow bubbles in their current swim lessons? We know this is a well-intentioned attempt to get them to put their face in, but... unfortunately it is an outdated & ineffective approach to learning to swim. In ISR lessons, your instructor's first priority will be establishing proper breath control. This means your little one will learn to effectively hold their breath while submerged. They will also be carefully shown where and how to get their air- be it at the wall, steps, or of course..resting calmly on their back in a beautiful float Prepare to be in awe of your kiddo from Day 1! Hello all, After finishing several graduations last week I went straight into a medical procedure Monday morning that required anesthesia and an overnight stay. Please be patient as I know several of you are looking for program details, I will be resting the remainder of this week and will reach out to everyone who has reached out to me next week.... Looking to make a difference against Hurricane Laura? *Calling all helping hands this morning!* Yesterday, I cooked and shredded 30 lbs of chicken. I was hot, I was sweaty, my back hurt and honestly my kids were left to survive on their own for a few hours- but I got it done. When I hit the bed last night, I knew I had made a difference that day! ... There is always a way to help!!! Today, we are asking for monetary donations as Painting with a Twist joins forces with Acadian Ambulance to provide a hot dinner to rural Southwest Louisiana (SWLA). They can not survive on non-perishables alone! Their plate will include: Chicken tacos, Spanish rice, desserts, all the fixings, drinks and bug spray! This week’s maintenance classes are CANCELED due to the expected rain from Tropical Storm Beta. *There are no plans to reschedule at this time as we are moving into the colder months. If I find another opportunity to hold a day of maintenance lessons I will reach out via email to graduate parents.

Good Morning! A quick story on why LAYERS OF PROTECTION ARE SO IMPORTANT, first hand from your very own ISR instructor! Everyone who has met me at @ISRBeaumont has likely met my 2 yo son Fisher (see the adorable kid below)... Fisher will turn 3 years old in a few months. This morning Fisher, Bayler and I were walking into the kitchen with our dog Zoey next to us. I stopped at Bayler’s swing to put him down and Fisher continued on the kitchen, the swing is in the living room and that is a clear eye sight to the kitchen and both are 10-15 steps from each other and the back door that leads to our pool. See where this is going, folks?! As I was bent over putting the baby in a swing (a 5 second task, literally), I heard my 2 year old son unlock the back door, open it and let the dog out to potty. My two year old son! We are all great, never makes a mistake parents, right? It will never happy to us, right? I’m never not watching my kid, right? Well, in a quick moment like this morning my son could have ended up in a pool. It happens that fast! I wanted you to see how young they can do things on their own, and how quick it can happen. Does your backdoor lead to the pool? Do you have a dog/cat door? Is the pool gated off? Does your child know how to survive in water without you? What if the baby had a poop diaper when you bent over to place him in the swing and you didn’t hear the backdoor open so you went to change the baby’s diaper real fast? Let my story sink in this morning! Layers are crucial: -Alarms on all doors that open to pool -Lock off all dog/cat doors -Fence perimeter around the pool -Survival swim lessons -Get CPR certified (mistakes happen quickly)

This little firecracker Sister was vertical, screamed the whole time, scratched at her face and pulled her hair, she was not a fan! Mom was so worried about her not being able to get it’or being the one who just did not graduate. ... Look at her now! The rockstar and MVP!
