In February of 2020 we were paying $1.90 per pound for chlorine. Today that chlorine is selling for $2.96 per pound and now they limit your order to 4 pails. For 6 weeks in a row we ordered 5 pails. The local wholesalers either have no chlorine or are charging full retail plus. So, needless to say pool service prices are going up. We anticipate our monthly cost going up $10.00. To partially offset the cost we will be increasing our monthly fee by $5.00 in most cases.

Just a "tip" to any of you who maintain your own swimming pools. Go to the local pool store and buy your chlorine for the summer season NOW. Here is an example of what I think is going to happen. I did a search this morning for liquid chlorine. The common price for a gallon is just over 6 bucks. Today, I found average offers of $17.00-$35.00 per gallon. So, the prices have increased 3 to 5 times. ... A 50 pound bucket of 3 inch "tabs" can be bought for a bit over $100.00 now. That price will probably be going up.
