We changed our start date! Opening our gate starting April 7th! You can get a head-start on summer learning by joining our 5-day Summer Break swim intensive March 29th and then continue in lessons as many days a week as fits your schedule. Excited to meet some new swim families!

What would your child do if they went after a toy in a pool? Would they have the skills they need to handle a water situation unassisted? Our swimmers do! At Safe to Swim, our mission is to make every swimmer safer in the water. By creating safer swimmers, we create safer families and thus create a safer community to enjoy all the benefits of swimming! Always have a designated water watcher! So simple yet so important at any pool party or gathering when you have a pool. As seen in this video, drowning can happen with multiple adults within arms reach of a child. Pay for a lifeguard or parents rotate for the duration of the party; either way PLEASE HAVE A DESIGNATED WATER WATCHER this summer.

This is the goal for all of our infant/toddler swimmers - comfortable floating on their back, keeping their chin up with a clear air way. Excited to work with our Bakersfield swimmers this season (starting in May 2020) to make everyone safer around the water! Stay tuned for more info to follow...

Floating comfortably on your back is a skill we highly focus on as once a child is able to do this, they can use this skill in an emergency situation to stay calm, breathe and call for help. Here's one of our swimmers demonstrating her first unassisted back float with a seamless transition from assisted to independent!
