Hi all, just to let you know that we have had to suspend taking any more entries into our upcoming 2021 Speedo Sprint Series Heats due to everyone trying to ge...t on and in at the same time. Please rest assured, whilst we have had to stop taking entries for time being, we are not full and will be back open for entries once we have checked things out. Please bear with us until we check things out and get back online which we expected to be able to do within the next few hours.

A special congratulations to Tom Goddard, who at the Senior MetSEA Championships swum a personal best time and qualified for Olympic Trials for the first time at age 24. Tom was one of the 4 original Varsity swimmers that kick started the Varsity program a couple years ago and now leads the club both in the pool by winning every race he entered at MetSEA and off the pool deck as the Club Treasurer. These results come from plenty of recent hard work shown by 30 minute of self directed dryland every morning and is an excellent example of why athletes can still swim fast in their 20s! #lionspride

Well, things may have been different at this years 2020 Senior MetSEA Summer Championships, however, we were fortunate enough to have our swimmers back doing wh...at they do best. How did you find the meet? A big, massive, huge thank you to every technical official and any parent who volunteered throughout the weekend. Not one person involved with this meet is in a payed position. Without these incredible volunteers our swimmers would not have opportunities like last weekend. We are all very thankful and grateful for this and each one of you should be proud. If anyone is interested or wants any information in relation to training to become an official please do not hesitate to contact us. We will happily help you through the process. Once again, we’ll done to everyone involved. See more

The following information has been emailed to all spectators who have purchased tickets to this weekends event: Hi everyone, Due to NSW Government restrictions ...on indoor events, we are considered a large scale event. For this reason we were informed last weekend that we need to have allocated seated tickets for our spectators. In doing so we MUST leave one row of seats between each row (eg if we are using row A we can not use Row B). We also must leave at least two seats per spectator. Remembering that the conditions of entry for this event is one spectator per household. This has been an extremely lengthy process (extremely lengthy) and I am still not finished. We are working hard to finalise these seats. It is disappointing to see that people have moved their assigned seats. These changes have put us in breach of the NSW Government restrictions which could prevent the event from being allowed to take place. (changes include moving your seat to a row that we can not use, or two a seat that is within two seats of someone else. Whilst many of the changes are frustrating, we unfortunately MUST stick by them. We are working extremely long hours to ensure we are addressing all requirements, so your assistance with this is much appreciated. If you wish to withdraw your swimmer because you are not willing to adhere to these restrictions I am happy to offer you a refund. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me at [email protected] Dont forget their will be a different entrance for swimmers and spectators so please look out for the signs. Swimmers will not have access to the spectator area and vice versa. A kiosk will be open for spectators, however no kiosk is available for swimmers, coaches or officials. Once again we apologise for any inconvenience.

How good was it being back racing. Well done to all swimmers after day 1 of the 2020 Senior MetSEA Summer Championships. There were many great races. Don’t forg...et that due to Covid restrictions, medals will be sent to the clubs of those medal winners. Also due to a lack of volunteer’s, COVID restrictions make it impossible to use the backstroke ledges under handling of equipment. We are still in need of some more volunteers for tomorrow (especially in the afternoon session). You will be needed for an entire session, however, we will pay for your parking, provide you with lunch, and include a free coffee. Sounds a lot better than sitting in a grandstand on your own to me . Anyone able to assist please send a private message to this Facebook page or email [email protected] A huge, massive thank you to everyone who volunteered today. It was very much appreciated. See more
