Olympic athletes also leave their gear behind!

10.01.2022

Such sad news today as a New Zealand Olympic legend has left us - Jean Hurring (nee Stewart) was the first kiwi swimmer to win an Olympic medal in swimming in t...he 1952 Helsinki Games. Her Bronze placing was legendary and inspired generations of swimmers, including her son, award winning swimmer Gary Hurring. Our thoughts and well wishes go out to her family and we hope she continues to inspire for generations. #ripjeanstewart #inspired #legend #swimming #swimmers #swimt3 See more

THE PEACE OF POTENTIAL - BY WAYNE GOLDSMITH Please pass this on to someone who needs it. Stay safe and be well. Dreaming what others dream not.... Thinking what others can not. Seeing what others do not. Saying what others dare not. Being what others are not. Doing what others will not. Success is a choice: your choice. Dare to be different. Difference wins. Copying kills. Be courageous in your decision making. Be fearless in your pursuit of excellence. Be relentless in your own learning. Be uncompromising in your personal standards. Inspire those around you to be the best they can be. Listen-really listen to the ideas of everyone in your team. Respect enthusiasm and passion: they provide energy to every discussion and are often the keys to finding new solutions. Care about those you lead: they don't care how much you know until they know how much you care. In the end, it isn't about winning or losing, it's about being the best you can be. It's about living a life where you explore, experience and embrace the full extent of your remarkable potential. It's about knowing-with certainty-that you're living life on your terms and that you're saying and doing things that you believe in. It's about the peace you will feel when you know that every day-in everything you do-you're being the person that you want to be. #waynegoldsmith #wgcoaching

If you've spent time with me on pool deck, you will know I lament the misuse and overuse of equipment when training athletes

Might be gymnastics but a good reminder to our senior swimmers that someone is always watching!

I know it's been quiet over here but things have been changing! I have moved to Gisborne and teamed up with Comet Swimming club to continue to offer support to the swimming community. I have also started teaching high school Science and I am working towards a Masters in Teaching and Educational Leadership. Watch this space!
