HEY, I’m El I have had a lot of new followers (1K officially!!) in the 2 months since I first shared this business venture with the world, so I thought I’d re-introduce myself! I’m Ellie (but I chose the spelling elly for my branding because I think it is so pretty). I’m 22 years old, a true crime junkie and a recent uni graduate living in Geelong ... I make handmade swimwear from recycled fabrics (made from waste nylon like discarded fishing nets retrieved from the bottom of the ocean) and centre my brand around sustainable and ethical practices. I am passionate about the environment, reducing consumption and encouraging people to consume more consciously. I started this small business because I noticed how inaccessible sustainable fashion is for young girls and women - I want to be a stepping stone for us to begin to make more sustainable and purposeful choices around what we purchase. I also want sustainable fashion to be accessible for bodies of all beautiful shapes and sizes and to represent these in my campaigns.
