It’s Mental Health Awareness Week and a couple of years ago the theme was Body Image. Something that is and continues to be close to my heart. For years I believed I wasn’t good enough and when I saw, this after deciding to do something different with the business, I was surprised and shocked to see this being shining back at me. Surprised because I didn’t recognise myself - I had always seen something else in the mirror. What I usually saw wasn’t this and at 40 (when this wa...s taken) I really wanted to own who I was... ALL of it. And rock a bikini! If I looked like this in a bikini at 40 then I will always wear a bikini and let go of the regrets of ever believing my body wasn’t enough. It is. It grew, homed and fed two amazing beings. It takes me places and experiences life and still does. I am enough. We are all enough and the vessel in which we experience life is enough. Hard to believe that 2 years ago we were asking incredibly courageous women to step way out of their comfort zone and pose in front of a camera in a bikini but they did it and the BBC Radio Bristol were there to see it happening.
