Finally after 3 weeks of waiting, I can swim again! Such a nice feeling being able to swim in my back garden.
Some useful tips here, for those of you who are missing swimming these days. There may not be enough incentive for you to keep swimming in your mind with events unlikely to happen this year, but following some of the tips below might just help the return to swimming be a bit less of a shock. If you go to the youtube page of this video, there are usefull links in the description that support all of these tips.... Again I would suggest scheduling these sessions to be at times you would have typically swam regularly. Be inventive too! You may not have resistance bands or therabands, but you may have old tire tubes! ;)
If you want some guidance on dryland training with swim cords or resistance bands (or even old tire tubes), this article has very useful videos. There's a warm-up session, 3 separate workout videos, and the last video is a particularly useful video on improving your catch. Now is the time to do it!
