Wow, what a monster of a storm yesterday! We are surveying pool damage today and tomorrow and are aware of many who went underwater last night with Hurricane Zeta. Please bear with us as we assess the condition of pools and prepare for the cleanup process. We expect to begin cleanup as early as Monday. We want to thank everyone for their patience and hope all of you are safe and well!

This is how cold it is in South Mississippi today! Make sure to keep those pumps running if the temperature dips below 32 degrees!

Dear valued customers, During these trying times we are committed to giving you the peace of mind in knowing that your pool is taken care of. As many people are working from home and have kids out of school for the foreseable future, we want you to know that one of the safest social distancing activities is to go for a swim in your pool! While cases of coronavirus in Mississippi are thankfully low, we want you to know that we take water and personal sanitation seriously. ...The chemicals that we use (Chlorine, Di-chlor, etc.) kill virtually all viruses and bacteria including coronavirus in pool water. According to the CDC, Coronavirus is highly unlikely to spread through recreational water sources like swimming pools and hot tubs as long as the proper chemical levels are maintained. We test every single pool weekly for proper chemicals levels and adjust accordingly, ensuring that your pool is always safe! Sincerely, Adams Pool Service

When a hurricane is on the way, here are a few tips to protect your pool and equipment: 1. Do NOT drain your pool! Draining a pool before a major rain event can cause your pool to "float" or pop out of the ground because of saturated soil. 2. Leave your pool running while it is still calm, but shut off all pool-related breakers prior to bad weather or heavy rain. ... 3. If your pool equipment is below the base flood elevation, you may want to have your pool pump removed. Don’t worry, if you are an Adams Pool Service customer we’ve got you covered. Just give us a call and we will remove the equipment for you. We store the pump in a safe location until the hurricane has passed, and reattach. This can save you from having to replace the pump if the area becomes submerged. (Cartridge and sand filters can stay where they are.) 4. In the event that your pool becomes submerged and is inundated with water from the bay, river, or surrounding bayous, contact us and we will be happy to give you an estimate on cleaning storm debris from the water. If you wait too long, your pool WILL become stained from mud and debris. The sooner we know, the better!

Dear customers, It is looking increasingly likely that we will be feeling the effects of two hurricanes next week! We are taking every possible precaution to make sure your pool and pool equipment are safe through this unprecedented event. We are currently evaluating what actions should be taken for our low-lying and flood prone customers, and will execute those decisions on Monday before tropical winds reach us. We will keep everyone updated and we hope you all stay safe! S...incerely, Adams Pool Service

Friendly reminder: it’s snake season in Mississippi! Always visually check your skimmers with the pump off before you empty out your baskets. We found this one in a skimmer today. Any guesses what kind of snake this is?

Record breaking cold is on the way! Make sure you run your pump throughout the duration of freezing temperatures!

08.12.2021

With cold weather approaching, remember to leave your pool & booster pumps running overnight! The easiest way to do this is to remove the off switch on your manual pool timer tomorrow night and replace it when temperatures return to above freezing levels. If we’ve installed a smart system on your pool, you’re covered! One of the perks of these newer systems is that they automatically protect your pipes from freezing!

If your pool looks like this once Tropical Storm Cristobal passes, here are a few tips to help get it back to clean and blue: 1. Do not drain your pool! It may seem tempting to dump the water and refill but you could risk a pool pop-out especially in low-lying areas with saturated soil. 2. Clean out as much debris as possible, including skimmers, pump basket, and Polaris bags. ... 3. Contact ADAMS POOL SERVICE to schedule a post-storm pool survey and if necessary a complete post-storm pool cleaning. As a professional pool cleaning company, we use commercial strength chemicals that will get your pool back to blue in no time!

Yuck! We have A LOT of muddy pools to take care of this week. Thankfully, this isn’t our first hurricane rodeo! We utilize a unique process for cleaning these hurricane-inundated pools, saving you thousands of dollars and reducing any further damage to your pool and equipment. And please remember- never allow a company or individual to drain your pool after a storm if you are in a low-lying area near water. This may be the easy way, but most of the time it is not the right way and can cause permanent (and very expensive) damage to your pool.
