Melissa's Private Swimming Lessons

I’m several weeks behind on uploading videos from this summer, but I will start with this brave chica! She conquered her fear of the deep end and surprised herself by being able to swim across the entire pool-and enjoy it! She worked hard and listened to what I was teaching her, she tried it and then she did it! By the end of 6 classes, she was swimming laps across the pool, and we learned all 4 strokes, treading, diving, floating, and how to have fun in the water!! This cannonball video represents not only having FUN, but conquering FEAR of the deep end, and learning how the water works! I am so very proud of you! You did a great job in class! I am having such a fun time teaching Kade how to swim! He is 2.5 years old and is such a great listener in the pool! He loves doing things on his own! Since this video, he has learned how to reach and pull, pick up the rings, jump in and go back to the wall on his own! I am so proud of you, Kade!! You are such a Big Boy!! <3

I had such a wonderful teaching this wonderful 5 year old how to swim! He listened and worked hard to learn how to conquer his fear and swim! I am so proud of Dillion!! Within just a few lessons, Dillon conquered his fears and swam across the entire swimming pool by himself! He worked hard, stayed focused and did it! What an amazing Rockstar!!!

2 year old Stella learns how to jump in the pool and get herself back out on her own! She loves swimming and loves her Barbie dolls! =) They always help her swim!

While I'm sad I'm not teaching this summer in Texas, I have had the amazing opportunity to swim in the Himalayan Mountain Waterfalls-where the water is literally ice cold !! I wore my goggles and did a few laps, but not without getting a brain freeze (a definite first for this Texas Chica) and gasping for breaths instead of a controlled breathing pattern, because of the cold water! But what an experience!! Life changing!! I love swimming and I love teaching! I can't wait to start teaching again next year-but in warm water!

Rylah loved learning how to swim so much that she taught herself how to flip after a few practices of me turning her over! Amazing!

This big girl learned how to float confidently and fearlessly in just a few lessons! She surprised herself by being in the deep end, when she thought she was just in the shallow! No longer afraid! I’m so proud of you!

Kade is 2.5 years old and just learned how to swim! I couldn't be prouder of his listening skills, determination and desire to know how to swim! He works hard and has a fun time in the pool! Great job, Kade!!

Treading water is fun! This swimmer learned how to tread in one of her first classes-look at her rocking this! At the beginning of swim lessons, she was a little afraid of the deep end, but not any more! She learned how the water works and how to swim across it! She is a rock star and I’m so very proud of her!

It was such a privilege to swim with this determined Mermaid this past week! She was so excited to learn everything, from completely changing her breathing pattern while swimming to learning new strokes, floating on her back and learning a swim team dive! One thing she really wanted to learn how to do was go to the deep end and dive for the rings, like her big sister! It took a lot of practice, but by the end of the week, she was able to do it fearlessly and confidently, all ...by herself! And not just one time! She went and picked up 12 rings!! So many wonderful accomplishments this week! I'm so proud of all of my swimmers! Look at this adorable 3 year old! She has conquered her fears of the pool and of swimming and is working hard to become an independent swimmer! She is now confident in the fact that she CAN do it!! Look how care Free she has become when jumping in! We went from her not wanting to jump in at all, to me holding her hands, to me holding one hand, to her barely holding one finger, to small jumps and ...now, to these big Jumps, accompanied by a good swim to me! She can go under water and control her breathing and she can pick up the rings from the bottom of the pool and swim back up on her own! She swims to the walls or the steps and has grown leaps and bounds in just a few lessons! She LOVES swimming now, and has a huge smile on her face every day that I come for class! I love you, M!!!
