City of Wolverhampton Council is set to carry out major works to ensure Tettenhall Pool can reopen to the public and be enjoyed for years to come. The council... has approximately 180,000, in developers’ contributions, designated to improve public open spaces at Tettenhall Upper Green and Penk Rise. The options for Tettenhall Upper Green were put out to public consultation, which closed on January 11, with option 1 proving the overwhelming favourite. Option 1 was to replace the apparatus and pipework of Tettenhall Pool. This work will enable local children to enjoy the paddling pool for many years to come. Option 2 was the installation of new outdoor gym equipment to provide residents with an opportunity to improve their health and fitness for free. A new pathway would also be installed to link the pool and car park to the existing path which runs across the green to increase local walkers and dog walkers to enjoy the site in all weathers. The results are: 97.4% of people responding to the question on the paddling pool, liked the suggestion for a major overhaul of the plant and pumping system 22% of people responding to the question on a possible new path and fitness equipment, liked the suggestion 95.7% of people responding to the question on preference, declared a preference for the paddling pool suggestion The council suggested a complete upgrade of the existing Penk Rise children’s play area, which is nearing the end of its useful lifespan and 77.2 per cent of people responding to the question liked this idea, which will now be acted on. UPDATE: TETTENHALL POOL IS OFFICIALLY OPEN FOR PUBLIC USE! Just to re-iterate, we’ll make an announcement post once we know that the pool has been filled and is open to the general public. Until then, please be of the understanding that the pool has not been filled. We will post here when it has been done.... Again, this is usually done over the Spring Bank Holiday, which is the LAST weekend in May (26th - 28th May this year). Enjoy the lovely greenery in the meantime! :)

UPDATE 23/09/2019: The pool is now CLOSED for 2019. See you in 2020! Good news! The pool is now OPEN! Now about this weather .... Fingers crossed we get some of the scorching temperatures back over the next few weeks!... Enjoy and stay safe!

UPDATE 28/06/2019: With this lovely weather we're having we're seeing a big rise in messages asking us if the pool is open yet. Sadly it isn't and it's still expected to be re-opened in early August.

We currently have no news on when the council will be filling the pool for summer. We will update you as soon as we know - we appreciate that you all want to make the most of the sunshine! Just to note, it’s usually filled around the Spring Bank Holiday.

UPDATE 14/05/2019: The pool is NOT currently open for use. We will update you all once the Council have confirmed that it is open for use by the general public. This is USUALLY around the End of May Bank Holiday but the Council have advised that refurbishment works will also be taking place, aiming for a 1st August launch. Fingers crossed!

The weather is looking decent for a mid-September weekend! We’re still open this if you fancy dipping your toes over the weekend

Just had news from the council that the pool has now been re-opened! Apologies for the downtime but we always want to make sure the public are safe.

The pool is scheduled to be opened over this bank holiday weekend! (27-29th May). We'll update you when we have more information.
