Happy Fall Y’all! The leaves are falling, falling and falling some more. And the rain and the snow. We are a little behind but working. Even in the snowy, icy mix we were winterizing everyone who sent a call or text that day. Now that the cold spell has passed we will be back to closing and cleaning. Please text or call if you have a special need and need us by a certain time. Thank you all so much for your business and your patience. We have always been blessed to have the best clients!

2016 is almost gone. We want to thank all of our customers for supporting us. Without you we wouldn't be here. We also want to thank the guys that helped us this year. Without them we would never finish all that we have to do. Thanks to all of you. Looking forward to 2017 with all of you! Hoping 2017 is full of blessings and lots of giggles for you!

We’ve had 2 different people call and say they got a message saying we weren’t taking more customers this year. That isn’t true. We are working and still have openings for everything including weekly cleaning. I don’t remember who the first person who told me that was and the second one is out of town so I will ask how she received the message. If you’ve received an e-mail, text or call to this nature it wasn’t from us. Please let me know if you have received anything.

It doesn't have to be a big pool to have fun!!

Dear customers, As you know we have a high school graduate this year. I am not sure of weather and all of my workers are graduates this year. I am going around this evening adding chemicals to all the pools to make sure you are safe to swim. Depending on weather (it’s lightening where I am so I’m not gonna hold a metal pole in the air) your pool may not get cleaned until next week. I cleaned a lot of pool on Saturday and Sunday so you would be ok if something like this bad weather happened. Chemically you will all be fine to swim. Thank you, Stefanie

We had a lot of rain this weekend. If you are a weekly cleaning customer you may see us coming back a little sooner than usual this week because we want to make sure your chemicals are ok. We will try to get everyone's pool finished before the 4th of July if the weather holds out. If you are not a weekly cleaning customer and have a salt system this would be the time that you would need to shock it. I would say at least 3 pounds for an average sized pool. July of 2021 we won’t be able to buy or sell single speed pumps over 3/4 horsepower. Variable speed pumps have been popular in many other areas of the US for years. We’ve sold quite a few variable speed pumps this year so we figured we might as well upgrade our own so that I (Stefanie) can play with it and learn. Rene worked hard last week and got everything including the lights and automation upgraded for us. If your interested in upgrading your current system to save money on your electric bill give us a call. If you are an Entergy customer they have a $300.00 rebate if you convert and the manufacturer has a $100.00 rebate at this time.

It's starting to get really busy here at Express Pool Service. Please call ahead and schedule your opening so that we can get to everyone in a timely manner.

If you are on the Arkansas side of the river or in a low lying area on the Tennessee side this is why we aren't draining pools or installing liners at the moment. We can still measure for liners and get them ordered and have them here waiting when the water goes down. We never recommend you drain your pool yourself but this is an extra reason not to. Call soon to schedule your pool openings even if you won't be ready for a few weeks. We are filling up fast.

Dear customers, Today would be the day to plug in the pumps on your pool covers if you don't want them to fall into the pool....

First catch of the day. This little guy popped his head out of the skimmer when we took the top off. He was dried off, we fed him and let him sleep and then release him.

Happy Spring to all of you! We are working when it isn’t raining. We are also practicing social distancing. We have missed all of you over winter and are eager to chat and hear what’s new in your lives, but unfortunately, we can’t do that just yet. If you need to speak with us when we are at your home, please FaceTime or call. Between the two of us right now we will be going into 15-20 backyards a day on nice days. We can’t risk your health or ours by being in close contact with that many people. We aren’t visiting friends and they aren’t visiting us. We are only going to buy food when it’s absolutely necessary and we stay pretty stocked up so we’ve only had to run in for milk and fresh foods twice so far. We are looking forward to the summer and seeing all of you. Please call soon to schedule your openings before we fill up.

Wishing all the kiddos and teachers a fantastic first day back at school!! First day of school means all of my summer help is gone. I am almost afraid to face a week of 50+ pools without our helpers!! For those of you that are one of those pools, I promise we will be there just maybe a day or so later!!

It's time to start planning for your pool closing. If you would like more information on a safety cover for your pool give us at call at 870-733-1937.

This has been a very harsh winter here in the Mid-south. We are seeing things that we do not normally see in this part of the country with swimming pools. If your pool is covered be mindful of water on the top of your cover and whether or not it is frozen when you start to pump it off. Also look at your cover and watch to be sure ice has not cut through your cover so that you are not pumping water from inside the pool through a hole in the cover. If your pool is not cover...ed and it is not winterized make sure it is running constantly when temps are close to freezing. We have seen some pipes burst even with pools running this winter. If it is not covered but your equipment is winterized make sure you have gizmos or something in your skimmers to prevent them from freeze damage. If you have an uncovered vinyl liner pool be watchful of ice, it can be sharp and can cut the liner. It is usually best to leave the ice alone and not break it up. Brothers of JDC/DCA will be having a pancake breakfast March 15, from 8-10 at Big John's Shake Shack here in Marion, AR. All proceeds will go to St. Jude Children's Hospital. First liner for 2015.

We were swimming at this time last year. And this year this yucky weather.

Most of you know that Abi Strong holds a special place in our family’s heart. Since it’s my birthday month I thought I would see if we could help support the hospital that hasn’t charged her family a penny and even feeds them healthy meals when they are there for the day. You can go to her page tagged above to follow her story. This is the week for her scans so prayers are appreciated. Thank you in advance for helping me celebrate my birthday month (y’all know I’m extra and celebrate the whole month not just a day) by helping this cause.

We at Express Pool Service are sad to hear this news. We’ve had a very good working relationship with Nu-way for 20 years. We don’t stock chemicals or parts but during the time that they are closed or until someone else opens a retail store (hopefully by Spring) we will try to accommodate anyone in the West Memphis and Marion area. We have deliveries made to us from the Memphis warehouse several times a week and we go pick up as well.

It looks like we are going to get some rain over the next day or two. Make sure you remember to drain the water from your cover...

This was just posted. Please make sure your cover pumps are plugged in when the rain starts. Auto pumps should always be plugged in. If you are in a low area you may experience water under your liner. There isn’t really anything that can be done until the ground dries up some. Please call us if you have any questions.

I don't ever remember having so much rain in July and now it's continuing into August. Do any of you remember the last time we had such crazy weather?

This has been a hard winter so far for swimming pools. I have seen quite a bit of freeze damage to equipment even with pumps running. It is still not too late to winterize. Give us a call if you need help.

We worked hard today! Measured some liners, vacuumed some pools, salted lots of pools. We love getting pictures from smiling, swimming customers.

Swimming lesson fun!!

We love our furry clients too. We haven’t lost one yet. We’ve given a few some of our lunch and once one of us ran after one while they turned their phone map on so I could drive from Marion and pick the dog up. He likes to ride in my truck . I’ve done this job too long, they don’t get past me but some of the boys had to give up lunch or run a couple of times before they learned the trick.

It’s about that time of year. Warm days, cool pool to spend your time in. We are filling up already for openings even if they are for April and May. Second catch of the day was caught while releasing first catch of the day! He was brought home to show me. So glad my loving husband likes to share everything with me. He was taken back and released where he was caught.
