Last week, there was a video of this swimmer’s clothes test & people went CRAZY. 200 comments on tiktok how this kid would be traumatized, why didn’t the mom just watch her kid around water, blah blah blah. I posted this and ... *crickets* Not a peep from those people. Everyone is quick to criticize, especially something they don’t understand. And they are even quicker to criticize parents who lost their child to a drowning as in: why didn’t you get him swimming lessons?? Fact: mind ya business, even around the pool when parents are watching their children learn how to self-rescue.

Is my child ever going to stop crying (during lessons)? Probably not First, depending how verbal your child is, crying may be the best, or only, form of communication. Secondly, a crying child is a breathing child! Third, students don’t usually like swimming with their instructor because that means work! THEN ... something happens and your once screaming-her-head-off kid is splashing & laughing during lessons. Once you know how to swim, it’s all fun from there! 2 inches of water is a hazard. We think it’s instinctive to push yourself up from being face down in water - children don’t know this! They must learn where air is & how to get to it, which is what aquatic survival lessons teach.
