As parents, it’s not our job to save our child from sinking. It’s to teach them to swim. Starting earlier provides your child a fighting chance to save themselves from this silent killer called drowning. While it's best to get your child in the water as early as possible (crawling is a good age), it's never too late to get started. Here's a quick view of what we work on at different ages. Safety is our number ONE priority, but we also like to show kids that swimming is fun.

We are opening the pool on February 22nd and will start new sessions every 6 weeks through the summer. While your child is attending our program they will need to refrain from swimming outside of lesson time until they are fully skilled. You'll want to register now so that you'll be able to enjoy the whole summer swimming!

It's not always serious around here! Once students graduate our main program and master swim float swim we offer group lessons, intro to strokes and add in some friendly competition. Khloe (5) has been swimming since she was 16 months old. Mila (4) has been swimming for a year. Way to go girls!!

Prior to enrolling, 3 year old Everest had only worn a puddle jumper in the water, giving him a false security that he could swim independently in the pool. In 4 weeks, both Everest and his 23 month old brother, Sunny, passed their clothing checkouts!! Now they know how to respond if they were to ever fall into their backyard pool. Yes, swimming to the edge of the pool to pull themselves out is included in one of the skills we worked on. Way to go boys!!!

Here's our first clothing checkout of 2021! We are so proud of 2.5-year-old, Nora! A month ago I had my first conversation with Nora's Dad who expressed that he wanted her to be safe for summer. We have met that expectation and still have 2 weeks left to have some fun and continue working on her skills!!

23 month old, Sunny, and his 3 year old brother both graduated last week. They are the last students of the 2020 season to finish!! Keep an eye out for his brother's video too!

2 year old, Jaylah, makes this look so easy. The reality is mastering this does not come naturally to most small children. It takes lot of repetition for her to do this without her losing her balance and falling forward or backwards off the lagoon. At Aqua Baby SurvivalSwim School, we teach all different aspects of water safety. Once a child is skilled, we will simulate a fall in while they are fully clothed so that they get familiar with how it would feel should they ever encounter an aquatic accident. 69% of drownings occur during an unplanned swim time. WAY TO GO PAYTON!
